Eves To Race In The Final Two Rounds Of The F4 U.S. Championship
Gahanna, Ohio’s Braden Eves announced Wednesday that he will be competing in the next two rounds of the FIA Formula 4 United States Championship, both of which will take place at Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. Eves will again be driving for Jay Howard’s Motorsports Driver Development (MDD).
Eves found success in his inaugural F4 race earlier this year, finishing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. After scoring MDD’s highest F4 finish thus far, Eves went back to karting, where his success continued with back-to-back wins in the SKUSA ProTour in Sonoma, California and New Castle, Indiana. Eves hopes to carry this success with him into the next two F4 races. If his success continues as expected, Eves is likely to race a full season with MDD in the FIA F4 US Championship in 2018.
When asked about what the future holds, Eves said, “I’ve been with MDD for a long time now. They have a unique program for taking people from karts to cars, and they’ve proven to be very competitive in their first season in F4. I plan to stay with MDD for the 2018 season; [Jay Howard] brings a lot to the table with both his experience as a racer and his connections within the racing industry. His team is extremely well run and very professional; I cannot thank Jay and his whole team enough for everything they’ve done for me, and I am looking forward to working with them for a long time.”
Eves has said that he does not plan on racing any karts in 2018 if he lands a full-season seat with MDD. “I might do SKUSA, but other than that I won’t be in the kart much,” Eves said.
